Do we have a President?

Listen, I know we all claim that we want the President to relate to us but how much?? I don't want my President endorsing television shows. He is the President of the United States, why oh why is he promoting a television show? Oh, and it is George Lopez's show. A late night television show by a minority. Guess he is already campaigning. How about WORKING. How about focusing on the problems of the country. LIKE UNEMPLOYMENT.

Oh, well, I better be careful about what I say. I might be accused of being paid by the Republican party to write something up or special interest to pick on Obama.

I am sad that my country has turned to this lack of free speech. We are no longer allowed to express our opinions. We are not allowed to criticize our President. We are suppose to treat him like a god. It is outrageous. I am saddened.

I miss my country. A country that allowed us to express our opinions about our President, any President.

Calling people Mobs, just because they are protesting, way outrageous.

But, hey, glad the President has time to make a commercial and no one cares that he is already campaigning and not focusing on the issues!!!
Please Enjoy this 'Psalm' I received in an email.

FROM THE FIRST BOOK OF DEMOCRAT

PSALM 2008-2012

OBAMA IS MY SHEPHERD, I SHALL NOT WANT.
HE LEADETH ME BESIDE THE STILL FACTORIES.
HE RESTORETH MY FAITH IN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.
HE GUIDETH ME IN THE PATH OF UNEMPLOYMENT.
YEA, THOUGH I WALK THRU THE VALLEY OF THE BREAD LINE, I SHALL NOT GO HUNGRY.
OBAMA HAS ANOINTED MY INCOME WITH TAXES.
MY EXPENSES RUNNETH OVER MY INCOME.
SURELY, POVERTY AND HARD LIVING WILL FOLLOW ME ALL THE DAYS OF HIS TERM.
FROM HENCE FORTH, WE WILL LIVE ALL THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES IN A RENTED HOME WITH AN OVERSEAS LANDLORD.
BUT I AM GLAD I AM AN AMERICAN, I AM GLAD THAT I AM FREE. BUT I WISH I WAS A DOG AND OBAMA WAS A TREE.

Love IS Blind!

I am definitely the one on this blog that doesn't always use the most, um, how shall we say it, scholarly approach but I could not let this one go because I believe it shows the mentality of Americans right now. TMZ.com got a shot of Our President being less than shall we say, Presidential and yet AMERICANS commented like crazy defending him. Maybe they need to pay more attention to the facts below.

Currently, we have 14 1/2 million people out of work or if you like percentages then the unemployment rate is over 9% and heading for 10%. They, (meaning the Executive Branch) are discussing another stimulus package and the concern is that there will not be enough Senators to stop it.

The stimulus packages are not working. This will create inflation, which Americans seem to not understand that means PRINTING MONEY AND DEVALUING THE AMERICAN DOLLAR. THAT IS A BAD THING. In addition who will pay for this stimulus package????

Now, you would think that Americans might start to get upset with the President. But, they so love Obama that they will defend his every word and action, even checking out a 'young thing'. TMZ.com has a great snapshot of our President looking at a young girls bottom and yet the peoples comments to defend him are hysterical, right down to claiming he was checking out her shoes.
My point is, that if it was any other President Americans would be ready to nail him to a wall and then checking out a chick's bottom, well that would send Americans over the edge. But, they have this LOVE OBSESSION with Obama and he can do no wrong.

THIS SCARES ME. How far in the hole is the country going to go before Americans really start clamoring for CHANGE. YES WE CAN CHANGE!!! BUT,NOW, WE ARE CHANGING RIGHT TO OUR DEATH. WE ARE CHANGING AND DROWNING, SINKING, AND DYING! WE NEED TO STOP THE CHANGE BY OBAMA AND GET BACK TO THE BASICS OF AMERICAN LIVING AND FAST!!!

Stop overspending, let our corporations and small businesses create jobs and Americans need to spend within their limits. We all need fiscal responsibility and the GOVERNMENT should lead the way!!!

Enjoy our President's roaming eyes. Check it out, it is funny!! Lastly, he is not the first President to have a roaming eye but I would dare say he is the first to be so OPENLY DEFENDED FOR IT!!!

The Bumper Stickers are Changing!!

Just in Case you can't Read it.

And that seems to SUM IT ALL UP!!
Also note the truck is White, the letters are in Blue and Red. Very Patriotic!

Oh, and I know how some people love statistics well, according to the Associate Press Obama's approval rating is dropping too. Now, Obama started at around 74% and is around 64% depending on the different polls you look at but it is dropping. The euphoria is waning. Imagine that? Americans aren't working. Homes are going into foreclosure at fast rates. Not just in your normal areas such as California, Florida and Nevada but Michigan and Ohio are going to have record numbers of homes in forclosure. By the end of the year they expect to have 2 million homes in forclosure. We have already hit the 1 million mark. This is a record high in the United States.
We are still in Iraq.
I know his fans claim none of it is his fault and he hasn't had enough time, hello, he has been in office since January! How long should we wait for some recovery? Wake up America, we are still sliding downhill!! He has a democratic Congress, what more can the guy ask for? Here is a thought, maybe, he should try things that will actually WORK.
Maybe he should do a Fireside chat, or pop on Twitter and tell everyone how great things are going to be, yeah, that might work, Oh, wait, he's not campaigning anymore so, maybe the social networks won't be needed for another year.
All I know, is it is time to pull America out of this slump and someone needs to step up to the plate and do it!
I'm tired of the speeches. Words are not enough and he needs to focus on America. I read his lovely speech in Cairo, great, get home and get Americans working. Really, at this point I don't care if Israel and Palestine blow each other up. Send, Hilary to make the nice speech, that is her job, right?
I want my friends to be back to work. I want my friends to have homes. I want my friends to be able to send their children to college. FOCUS, MR. PRESIDENT, FOCUS!! I want some action!

DISCLAIMER: I DO REALLY CARE ABOUT THE MIDDLE EAST BUT I BELIEVE IN PRIORITIZING AND DELEGATING. WE HAVE PRESSING MATTERS IN OUR OWN COUNTRY. HILARY COULD HAVE SMOOTHED THINGS OVER AND OBAMA NEEDS TO FOCUS ON THE UNITED STATES, THE CRUMBLING UNITED STATES.

Fascism, Socialism, Welfare, Capitalism what word doesn't belong?

Typically, we assume that when we use words that everyone agrees on the definition. In politics this assumption should not take place. It is amazing to see how the definitions change. I'm not sure they change, I think people get a little confused with all the pundits. Even the politicians themselves have a tendency to use the words, oh, let's just say, in a manner that comes across in a better light if that is what they need at the moment. Therefore, I am going to warn you. I am starting this post with a definition of terms. This way you know exactly how I am using the terms. Here it goes.

Capitalism: is an economic system in which wealth and the means of producing wealth, are privately owned and controlled rather than community, publicly, or state-owned and controlled.

Centralization: the concentration of administrative power in the nation's capital, allowing little or no local autonomy.

Conservatism: political mood or movement aimed at preserving older or traditional values, economic systems and laws.

Federation: political system in which component territories enjoy a high degree of autonomy or home rule.

Nationalization: governmental takeover of private industry.

Privatization: The selling of state-owned enterprises to private business.

Socialism: political movement at greater equality by means of welfare measures and/or nationalization of industry.

Totalitarian: a dictatorial regime that attempts to impose total ideological, economic, and political control over society.

Welfare: redistributive measures that provide health care, food, housing and insurance to poorer classes.

Oh, my goodness, that was a lot.

Well, as I continue to watch our politicians and our President ( I mean really you cannot help but see Obama the man is everywhere, it is a little creepy) go on and on about how the government needs to save us one can easily see that capitalism is dying in America. I would argue that America has not been a true capitalist society for a while but what was left of our capitalism is truly dying.

What seems to be happening right before our eyes is the nationalization of our industries. What will be next? Will we cease to be a federation? If you ask me the United States his heading towards the centralization of government.

The government is growing. This stimulus package. Unbelievable. I mean when you start talking about trillions of dollars, I cannot even wrap my mind around those figures. Worse, does it make any sense to anyone that they are lowering taxes and increasing spending and bailing out industries. Do the math? This cannot work.

In addition, if you notice now the President is turning Americans against business owners. He has insinuated it is their fault. I think it is high time everyone takes responsibility for their actions. Also, let the business fail if it is not making it. You learn from failure, not from the government taking over and giving you a strong talking to. What I find interesting is the fact that all the workers want their jobs saved but they want the people at the top canned. Um, not how it goes. If a company fails, it goes out of business and everyone loses their jobs, including the executives. That is how it should work. Therefore, if the government saves a company shouldn't everyone be saved. No, the President is making sure he is setting up a fall guy and making himself look like a hero to the little guy.

I am a confused American. I'm not sure if we are leaning towards socialism, fascism, totalitarian or Obama Welfare State. Go back to the top and look at the definitions. O.K. see why I'm wondering. Now, fascism, yeah, that one is over the top. I mean it is probably extreme to compare him to Mussolini but hmmm let's see. Mussolini favored big businesses, allowing the small ones to fail. I do believe the bailouts are for big businesses. Mussolini called it the Agency for Industrial Reconstruction, we just call it a bailout or stimulus package. The early supporters of Mussolini were students and white - collar workers who found jobs in the expanding party and government. Yikes, sounds a lot like Obama supporters. Mussolini created bureaucracies and public works to create jobs and lift spirits. Sound familiar? Just a little piece information Mussolini came to power legally in 1922, it took a few years for him to create a dictatorship. He promised the people prosperity at a time when they were down and out. It is easy for us to judge and say, "how does a society let that happen?"
Well, look at us. Americans seem to worship Obama. He is everywhere. He does commercials to get the American people to side with his political ideas now. He is on Twitter, Facebook, all over the web. He was interviewed five straight mornings on the Today show. Obama was on ABC, not sure if CBS had him on too. All the makings of, dare I say it, a dictator. I mean, you cannot say anything bad about him or people get nasty. Responses are unreal. You get called racist. You are told, "how dare you speak of this President, it is history in the making." What? O.K. Obama won the election but since when do we stop critiquing our President? This is America! It was what use to be great about our country. We always had a smooth transition but we just didn't say, "hey, let the new guy do what he wants."

See, why I am leaning towards fascism? My goodness!

I truly think Obama is following closely in the footsteps of FDR. What FDR did to combat the depression changed the role of government in American life, setting a pattern unchallenged until Ronald Reagan. The government grew under Roosevelt and it was because of Roosevelt continually winning elections that the amendment was created to limit the term on the presidency. It was believed that Americans, yes Americans could actually allow a strong leader to be in power too long.
Anyways, FDR's handling of the depression has been hotly debated. Conservatives think its basic mistake was to attempt, vainly, to change the normal operations of a free market-economy. Spending more money than the government had collected. Roosevelt began the system of federal budget deficits that have become so enormous today. Obama is now skyrocketing it! At the end of the 1930's , Roosevelt admitted, one-third of Americans remained "ill housed, ill fed, ill clad." Oh, didn't work out too well and the government was digging itself a hole. Glad we learned from FDR.

Lastly, confusion seems to surround the term 'socialism'. Many call the welfare states of Scandinavia 'socialist' because freely elected social Democratic governments have gradually introduced elaborate medical, unemployment, educational, housing and other schemes designed to lift up the lower rungs of society: 'cradle-to-grave welfare'. The aim of these parties is to wipe out poverty without resorting to coercion or state control. And here's where Scandinavian 'welfarism' differs from Communist style socialism. The Scandinavian lands have little nationalized industry and they pay very high taxes. What was nationalized was done for non-ideological reasons. The bulk of the economy is privatized. Bottom line, first came capitalism, then welfarism or socialism if that is what you want to call it but they still maintain a society that is highly privatized with high taxes. It is the high taxes that pay for their welfare programs because they want those welfare programs.

Americans, well, as usual we want it all. Low taxes. Welfare. That is going to lead to Socialism with nationalized industry. We all know how well that worked. U.S.S.R.

Us Conservatives have to continue to speak up. We must remind Americans that the United States is a federation that believes in an individuals rights. Individuals don't need the State to control their lives. Our industry should be run by individuals. Capitalism works. If Americans want welfare then they should pay for it. Our taxes should be for our welfare. Our taxes should not be for huge government spending and buying industries thus giving all the control over to the STATE . We need a resurgence of conservatism and we need it fast!

Andy Rooney Too?

Tonight I caught tidbits of 60 Minutes.
One story I listened too briefly was quiet clearly attacking Israeli troops. I am so curious as to why we feel the need to worry about Israeli troops? Shouldn't the United States worry about the behavior of our own troops? Wouldn't we love it if Great Britain dropped us when one of our troops acted in a manner in which they didn't like? C'mon. Our relations is with a country and their leadership we need to look at it as a whole, just as we expect the same courtesy.
Enough on that story.

The real stinger of the show: Andy Rooney is on the Obama band wagon too. Listening to him made me sick. He was unwilling to truly 'zing' him. I had to listen to it a couple of times. I think he was on the fence on a couple of issues. What do you guys think?
I think he was afraid to say anything about him. Maybe that was his point, could I just be hoping? Probably.
Oh, well, I am sick of everyone deciding he is a good President only a few days into the job. Oh, my goodness. This is going to be a long four years and at this rate, if the media has their way it is going to be eight years. My goodness, one would think Obama is Perfect.

The American Way

I'd like to start today's post by saying that I am proud to be an American. I truly am! What a great country we live in that we have so many freedoms. We can practice any religion we choose. We have the freedom to live where we want, do what we want, and make choices.

I have the freedom to have this blog in which I can write and express myself in anyway I see fit. If I don't like something my government has done, I have the right to express that! You know in some countries that's a death sentence?

Today was another great day in the United States. I'm sure some of you may be shocked to hear my say that. But see today we saw the democratic process that makes this country great put into action. We swore into office our 44th President. And, although I didn't vote for him, I am proud that we all had a chance to vote for who we believed in.

We have a new Commander in Chief who I will stand behind because he is our leader. I may disagree with some of his ideas; but I believe in this great country and the checks and balance system that we have in place. I also believe that I am not the only citizen of this country and, though I may not always agree, our voting allows for what is good for the majority to prevail.

I am as proud to be an American today as any other day. I do pray that God watches over our country, keeps her safe from harm, and gives us no more than our country (and those who serve her) more than they can handle.

What I'm not proud of is how other's are defining this day. This isn't, as many would have you believe, a day to celebrate a "black man" in office. No, a man who was allowed the same opportunities as you and me; a man who has proven himself worthy in many people's eyes; a man who has served this great country as a representative, was sworn into office.

He is no different that those who didn't win the Presidential election. When people declare that this is a great step for the country and focus on the color of his skin...that is racist.

Do you mean to tell me that had he not been black that he would be any less qualified for this position he is in?

It's not about the color of his skin. Everyone who thinks and expresses this needs to take a deeper look. This has NOTHING to do with race. It has everything to do with the ability of a person.

You are cheapening his Presidency if you make it about anything other than that.

I pray for him, his family, and this country because I am an American. It doesn't matter to me what his ancestry is. What matters to me is the ability for this Commander in Chief to lead this country.

Is he the best person for the job? In my opinion, no. But then again, I don't think anyone who ran in the end was the best person for the job. In the end, he was the person that the majority of the country chose...and that's American enough for me.

My Son Saw the Light!

Today, my son listened to the President to be talk. My son said, "Oh, I wish I would not have voted for him." I said, " I tried to tell you to look farther back than just his campaigning days to see the 'real' Obama.

My son said, " He wants to nationalize everything. Right? Isn't that just what you heard mom?" I said, " If you would have listened closely you would have realized that all along dear." I then said, " You are forgiven, you got caught up in all the frenzy and it was your first election. In addition the media was slanted. Learn and move on." He said, "I am so disappointed and he hasn't even started. I don't want everything nationalized." Then, as every child does ( he is in college but still young) turned to his mother for some reassurance and asked, "It will be hard for him to get that past Congress, right?" Now, my son is counting on Congress to hold Obama off. I turned and said, "Let's hope." I then said, "It does sound an awful lot like socialism, wouldn't you say?" My son said, "Yeah, it is scary." I proceeded to say, "You know FDR tried to do something like this and we got nowhere with it. I certainly hope someone, anyone is remembering their history lesson and they won't go down that road again." My son said, "I don't think this is going to work." (still a little stunned after listening to the broadcast) You could see and hear my son's disappointment today.

Well, it is kind of funny how a young college student can so quickly hear the words on television now and comprehend the consequences but during the campaign got all caught up in the frenzy. The media helped keep the wool over their eyes and it seemed no one could uncover Obama's true colors. No hiding it now! Too late America. Here we go!!!
