OBAMA Euphoria is waning!

I got this in an email today. I just had to giggle. I am thinking the Obama euphoria is wearing off.

The Bumper Stickers are Changing!!

Just in Case you can't Read it.

America

And that seems to SUM IT ALL UP!!
Also note the truck is White, the letters are in Blue and Red. Very Patriotic!

Oh, and I know how some people love statistics well, according to the Associate Press Obama's approval rating is dropping too. Now, Obama started at around 74% and is around 64% depending on the different polls you look at but it is dropping. The euphoria is waning. Imagine that? Americans aren't working. Homes are going into foreclosure at fast rates. Not just in your normal areas such as California, Florida and Nevada but Michigan and Ohio are going to have record numbers of homes in forclosure. By the end of the year they expect to have 2 million homes in forclosure. We have already hit the 1 million mark. This is a record high in the United States.
We are still in Iraq.
I know his fans claim none of it is his fault and he hasn't had enough time, hello, he has been in office since January! How long should we wait for some recovery? Wake up America, we are still sliding downhill!! He has a democratic Congress, what more can the guy ask for? Here is a thought, maybe, he should try things that will actually WORK.
Maybe he should do a Fireside chat, or pop on Twitter and tell everyone how great things are going to be, yeah, that might work, Oh, wait, he's not campaigning anymore so, maybe the social networks won't be needed for another year.
All I know, is it is time to pull America out of this slump and someone needs to step up to the plate and do it!
I'm tired of the speeches. Words are not enough and he needs to focus on America. I read his lovely speech in Cairo, great, get home and get Americans working. Really, at this point I don't care if Israel and Palestine blow each other up. Send, Hilary to make the nice speech, that is her job, right?
I want my friends to be back to work. I want my friends to have homes. I want my friends to be able to send their children to college. FOCUS, MR. PRESIDENT, FOCUS!! I want some action!

DISCLAIMER: I DO REALLY CARE ABOUT THE MIDDLE EAST BUT I BELIEVE IN PRIORITIZING AND DELEGATING. WE HAVE PRESSING MATTERS IN OUR OWN COUNTRY. HILARY COULD HAVE SMOOTHED THINGS OVER AND OBAMA NEEDS TO FOCUS ON THE UNITED STATES, THE CRUMBLING UNITED STATES.

Who To Trust?

The FBI has recently claimed Illinois has the most corrupt state government in the nation. Fortunately, Yahoo has told us what to think about that:

And while the AP is writing about how Obama used his wits, his intelligence, and his common sense to remain 'above the fray' of Illinois corruption, the liberals are openly criticizing Obama (never thought I would see that happen).

Obama's most recent critics have included Pennslyvania governor Ed Rendell and talk show host Ed Schultz. Both of them think Obama could have been more up front about the whole Blagojevich scandal.

Here's my take. Governor Blagojevich -who tried to sell Obama's Senate seat- cursed Obama on FBI recordings for not offering payment to install Obama's pick for the position. Good for Obama, to not give into corruption and bribery.

What's bad for Obama is that many, many lies have been circulated by his staff -saying at times of convenience that they had been talking with the governor about the selection and other times that they hadn't. Secondly, Obama was reluctant to call for the governor's resignation.

Emanuel Rahm is now on the hot seat. ABC News reports how Rahm (and the entirety of the staff) are avoiding questions about their previous statements.

Ben Smith at the Politico has surmised that Obama has tried to keep a fairly neutral policy toward Illinois corruption. Neutrality (often a foe of earnesty) is what is not in Obama's favor. If he knew about scandalous offers made by Blagojevich, he should have reported the information to the authorities.

In my opinion, to have secretly overlooked the offenses of the governor (which other 'clients' refused to do) and not reported them to the authorities is really to have condoned and enabled them. Obama is not entirely clean on this one.

Here's my breakdown:

Earnesty of Blagojavich: 30%
Tried to look one way while he was acting another way.
At least he leaned toward one side: money.

Earnesty of Obama: 60%
Refused to bribe a wayward official,
but also somewhat neutral in the face of lawlessness.

Earnesty of Yahoo: 20%
Earnesty of the Associated Press: 20%
They pretend to be the news, but they'd rather slip us their opinions.

Earnesty of Ed Rendell: 80%
Earnesty of Ed Schultz: 80%
Not conservative, but earnest to admit their leader's faults.
Hard to know if it had more to do with expedience.

Personality Cult

One of the most difficult things about Obama's victory over McCain is reading these ridiculous puff pieces about him in the headlines. Time magazine has been doing this for more than two years (it's actually why I canceled my subscription).

Look at this headline from the AP (as Rush calls them, the APO -Associated Press Obama). The headline is Obama staff combines DC minds with Chicago roots.

George W. Bush was continually attacked for the Texas members of his staff (who I happen to like a lot, especially Karen Hughes, Rove, and Harriet Myers). For Obama the Chicago politicans are part of an advanced hybrid staff -or so we are spoon fed to believe.

Don't forget those AP articles comparing Obama to other great presidents who came to power 'during a time of crisis'. Foolishly I clicked on the link to read about how Roosevelt and Licoln came to power during a time of crisis, and so is Obama. (By the way, Obama is the next Roosevelt and Lincoln -just take our overeducated opinion for it).

I also read a disturbing piece this weekend saying Obama is 'obviously a student of Lincoln' for putting his former opponents on his staff (unlike the evil, Republican Nixon who would never do that). He is always compared to the most well-remembered of our presidents.

Don't forget the Washington Post has openly admitted it's bias towards Obama (See here). And two studies have shown more anti-McCain headlines than anti-Obama ads among the major news carriers (Fox News was determined to be 50/50 by Rueters or the AP, I forget which).

And now there is effort to have Obama's birthday recognized as a national holiday. They already have a President's day, but Obama deserves his own because his presidency (which hasn't started yet, and, by the way, he hasn't passed any legislation that anyone can remember) is the greatest in history.

Don't be surprised if Mr. Obama gets his face on Mount Rushmore before the inauguration.

CHANGE! CHANGE! CHANGE!

The ever growing list of companies and Retail stores closing means more people out of work. The news is more and more depressing. I am so hoping for change. Not holding my breath.
What I would love to see is some campaign reform. The amount of money spent on campaigning is just wrong. If our politicians are so good at getting donations, well, hell why don't we have them do some fundraising for worthwhile causes. My Goodness, what they raised alone for their campaigns could have saved social security (I don't know if anything can save it, really)
Anyways, I think a change is needed on campaign policies. Limits on spending/fundraising and time. For Goodness sakes, if we cut back, said, hey two months of the bullshit, that would cut the cost.
I am hoping for CHANGE, CHANGE and more CHANGE. AND we all know Obama had a lot of CHANGE! Would he really before campaign reform? I am sure someone out there will try to say his rhetoric says he is but ACTIONS say a lot. Obama had a lot of CHANGE! Not sure he would give it up?

Excerpts from Dreams From My Fathers

I heard these excerpts from Dreams From My Fathers on the radio yesterday. I was shocked and alarmed that this man seems so close to the presidency!

OBAMA: It's just how white folks will do you. It wasn't just the cruelty involved, I was learning that black people could be mean and then some. It was a particular brand of arrogance, an obtuseness in otherwise sane people that brought forth our better laughter. It was as if whites didn't know they were being cruel in the first place or at least thought you deserving of their scorn.

OBAMA: So I read the book to help me understand what it is that makes white people so afraid, their demons, the way ideas get twisted around. It helps me understand how people learn to hate.

OBAMA: The point I was making was not that my grandmother, uh, harbors any, uh, racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is, uh, a typical white person who if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know, you know, there's a reaction that's bred into our experiences that -- that doesn't go away and that sometimes come out in -- in the wrong way.

OBAMA: The emotions between the races could never be pure. Even love was tarnished by the desire to find in the other some element that was missing in ourselves. Whether we sought out our demons or our salvation, the other race would always remain just that: menacing, alien, and apart.

The problem I have with these passages is that he lumps all white people together into one (inherently evil) category. According to Obama the value a white person has in life is not a matter of the way he or she chooses or behaves. It is a matter of the color of his or her skin at birth. And no one gets to choose their skin color at birth.

Obama claims to be against racism, and that's fine with me. I don't understand how he can advance that cause through racism and bigotry. If he really does care about the demons that people carry inside them, he should not be looking at the outward appearances. Demons don't choose their hosts that way, and skin color does not give them any right to be in anyone's life.

Instead he ought to focus on things like anxiety, phoniness, hypocrisy, and self-deception. The things the government cannot assist anyone with except to make the problem worse.
