Tuck Tail and Run Away

Today is special election day in California. Don't you think that this would be a big reason for a governor to stay in the state? Don't you think that any meetings and other engagements a governor would have outside the state (even if it was with the President) should be rescheduled for another day?

Not according to our governor. Nope, he knows that his ridiculous bills to RAISE OUR TAXES again is going to fail miserably. So what does he do? He tucks tail and runs away! He left last night to go to Washington DC to meet with the President to discuss global warming! Apparently that is more important that an election in this state.

How important? Oh, it meant he had to drop everything! He couldn't go to the poles and vote; oh no! He had to get an EMERGENCY absentee ballot yesterday so that he could vote and then leave...on his private jet (how's that for caring about global warming).

WHEN all these bills fail today (which all the polls show they aren't just losing, they are losing in a landslide) there is going to have to be another emergency session of state congress to talk about the budget again...oh wait, our governor is talking about global warming; that can't happen. This is his pattern: get everyone all involved in something IMPORTANT like taxes, budget reform, etc...; when things get tough, distract everyone with global warming; talk about how we need to do this and this to reform California government; oops, things aren't going my way, quick let's talk about global warming; it keeps repeating.

I'll leave you with this: Last week in a press conference, a reporter was pressing him on the issues of these raised taxes we will be voting on today. The question was (loosely quoted) "How do we know that you won't try and raise our taxes again after this?" The great governator's response? "Because I...(long pause) I promise you" (said with very little confidence). See, he's made so many promises that he has broken that even he knows that he can't be trusted when he says he promises something.

Like a kids who can't keep a secret

Did you hear? Biden decided that this "transparency in government" went into letting everyone know about the SECRET bunker they have for Vice Presidents when we are under attack...you know, like 9/11!

Does this mean that we now have to spend MORE tax payer money on rebuilding a new bunker? Oh wait, we'll be stimulating the economy! That's right, he did us all a favor!

I'm waiting for these people to take this job seriously. He really needs to start acting like a Vice President and not a little kid in a candy shop. I hope they do build a new bunker...for future Vice Presidents. It's very obvious they can't trust this one with that secret. I hope it takes them 4 years to build it...then he'll never get the chance to use it.

Of course, as an American, I hope there is never a need for any Vice President to use it; but it's apparent that they can't tell him anything! Seriously, my preschoolers can keep secrets better than this guy.

You learn from Failure

As a teacher it breaks my heart that we have raised a generation of kids that think they always deserve an A for just trying. We have a raised a generation of kids that live above their means.
These two beliefs are going to bring the country down.
I no longer can even wrap my mind around the astronomical numbers the government has spent and is proposing to spend to 'bail' everyone out.

Hello, it is time to fail. Start over. Figure out how to fix it, take the lumps while fixing it and climb back to the top. You learn from failure. You do not learn if mom & dad 'bail' you out and we will not learn if the government 'bails' us out. I am sorry, I know it sounds harsh but these companies need to go bankrupt. Americans need to work for a living.

Americans need to live within in their means.

I am saddened by what is happening and I don't believe it is going to get better, only worse. The younger generation cannot accept failure, responsibility or hard work. Wake up, because there is always another country ready to 'jump' in and take the top.

Americans need to look at history. All great Nations have fallen. When you refuse to accept your weakness and not learn from your mistakes, you are ripe for a fall from within.

To the younger generation, please stop your reckless behavior. Stop living pay check to pay check. Actually, stop living beyond your pay checks. Get your education or a training! Learn your trade. Start at the bottom. Quit insisting your are entitled to start at the top!
Don't be afraid to fail. Go out and try, fail and learn from your failure. Stop hiding behind mom & dad and the government.
I apologize for our overzealous parenting. It is time to toughen up. It is time to save this country ourselves!
