Press Tension
Obama ran into some testy exchanges with FOX and the state run media.
I think he managed the tension as best he could. I was surprised to see the normally-loyal media go after him like that.
He's obviously playing dumb like he doesn't see how the government throwing money at a public health care option is going to drive private insurers out of business.
He almost seemed to agree that he has conceded to McCain's criticism of being too soft on Iran.
If you don't have time to watch the video, check out the CBS article covering the tension.
I also liked this article covering the way independents are opposing his health care plan.
And this RCP article really explains well how the president's approval rating is suffering from unemployment mostly. The writer, Jay Cost, does a good job of explaining how Reagan's turnaround of the unemployment rate sent his polling much higher, and suggests Obama would need to do the same thing.

Do you have a video that isn't butchered by editing? At various points it jumps around his responses a few words at a time.
Yeah, there is butchering, but the whole thing is 10 minutes long, about five minutes longer than my attention span on watching a presser.

I was suprised on Thursday ( I think it was Thursday) on CNN they were discussing Obama's outright favoring of Media outlets that he sees as his ally. They cannot believe how rude he si about FOX and they said that yes, everyone new that BUSH favored FOX but he certainly did not deny any of the other channels access. I was surprised to see aonter channel actually defending FOX but I guess the Media sticks together and no channel wants to be slighted for reporting an opposite viewpoint. WE do operate under the belief of having an open media in this country, not sure that Obama likes that belief.
