More Pressure On Obama

Democrats are beginning to object to the massive spending pushed by the Obama White House. [1]

Obama has responded with claims that America needs to go beyond the "bubble and bust" cycles of the economy. [1]

Which basically means the government is going to stop the ping pong of economic cycles by making sure the economy is bad all the time.

Meanwhile companies are moving overseas as Obama has threatened to squeeze all the taxes out of them that he can [1]. So basically instead of sending our currency overseas from consumer purchases, we're just going to drive the wealth-creators out of here. You've got to admit he is effecient.

In other news, Gallup has released a poll showing that 41% of Americans think global warming claims are exaggerated.

And, finally, a reminder for Tim's sake: the Austrailian PM who climbed to power on the promise of fighting global warming decided it was all a bunch of hooey and moved on to other issues.

That poll is sad. It shows how an increasing number of people choose to get science education from talkback radio and conservative politicians as opposed to.. actual scientists.

Rudd (Australian PM) is introducing a cap and trade emissions scheme, so i'm not really sure what you're referring to. The cut to emissions is very soft, which is causing an uproar (perhaps that is what you meant) for alot of people. I think far less over here are sceptical about global warming than in America, but we are also a medium sized nation. Alot of people believe in global warming but dont want to significantly damage our economy to try and fight it because we are a small nation and cant make much difference. Ironically, I think we use more emissions per head than anywhere else in the world.

Scientist = Appearance-ist

A lot of what passes for science is a matter of selectively interpreting data to advance an agenda: pushing evolution in schools, the train wreck called "sociology", etc. Usually it's motivated by PhDs who are greedy for mooching off taxpayers. Instead of getting a real job the scientists plant their heads down under the filthy soils of academia.

When I was a boy scientists ("mad scientists")were often considered villains. Now movies portray religious people and conservatives as the villains. How mixed up is that?!

A lot of what passes as 'truth' in the environmental world is: "Someone else needs to change", in the case of the Kyoto protocol this was the countries with money (even though other countries produce more carbon). In the case of Al Gore the 'someone else' was businesses (and not his own life personally). In the case of GreenPeace it is homeowners who live by forests. In the case of Austrailians, they think the US should change.

None of these sophistical groups believe in what they are doing. Neither Al Gore nor the Kyoto nations are investing in their claims (buying land in now cold climates), but they are investing in green products as status symbols ... which is basically banking that they'll manufacture their own fake trauma that people will buy into and fill their pockets with.

Matt,

There are lots of scientists who think global warming is hooey. I for one, side with those who see it as a natural cycle. Human beings may contribute some but it is very arrogant to think we are above nature putting us back in our place. I am for trusting God with such large problems that human beings, even scientists, have no real control over.

Global warming will not go away no matter how much proof is brought against it because it is a wonderful tool for big government to use to manipulate people and a new avenue of taxation.
