American Happiness

This article from Investor's Business Daily spills the beans about how happy Americans really are.

Which is a lot happier than Europe.

The media keeps talking about how great all the regulations are in socialist Europe, along with the health care (where people are pulling their own teeth out), etc.

And it's all lies.

Americans are happier here because more people here know Jesus.

And we have less government to deal with.

The Bush Tax Cuts

I discovered an interesting tidbit of information from the WallStreet Journal care of the Rush Limbaugh program.

Apparently, the richest 5% paid 56% of all federal revenue before the Bush tax cuts. After bush tax cuts the richest 5% paid 60% of all federal revenue.

Before: richest 5% paid 56% of revenue.
After: richest 5% paid 60% of revenue.

Why are the rich paying MORE taxes when the tax rate was LOWERED?

Rush says its because they have more money to invest. Since they are investing more of the money (and hence creating jobs), they are making more money, and so the government is able to collect more money from them.

So why does anyone think taxes should be raised?

In my opinion, those who want to raise taxes on the rich just envy them for having the energy to actually go out there and make money.

The Bush tax cuts have been one of the best moves in the history of America. In my opinion George W. Bush is the best president in our nation's history.
