Entitled Leaders

Two conservative voices objected yesterday to the way the press is pushing Caroline Kennedy to the Senate. They both expressed unfairness in comparison to the exact opposite treatment received by Sarah Palin.
Emily Yoffe mentioned in one of her Slate.com articles (which you can read here) that Sarah Palin was accused of being totally inexperienced by the media, even though she was elected by the people as governor (among other positions). Caroline Kennedy has never been elected for anything. No one has voted for her. She hasn't served in any public office.

However ill-prepared Palin was for the vice presidency, she was chosen to run because she got elected governor of Alaska. And she did that without money, connections, or a famous name.
Emily also suggests giving the position away to someone as an entitlement sends a message to children that the successful are handed their success while those who work to achieve are left in the dust.
Rush Limbaugh also claimed:
It is kind of interesting, though, folks, it's quite illustrative to sit here and have ostensibly a serious conversation about the qualifications of Caroline Kennedy, which are zip, zero, nada. I mean let's be honest, there are none, in the real sense, and yet, and yet the Drive-Bys spent months, the Democrats telling us Sarah Palin is not qualified, and she's a governor! She's been elected to a number of offices.
