Blagojevich Plays Racism Card

Rod Blagojevich, the democratic governor of Illinois, has accused the opposition to his senate appointment of being racists. See here.
There are no African-Americans in the Senate and I don't think anyone -- any U. S. Senator that's sitting in the Senate right now wants to go on record to deny one African-American from being seated in the U.S. Senate ... Feel free to castigate the appointor but don't lynch the appointor.
I find it telling that the first reaction of democrats is to accuse their opponents of racism (while something like 98% of african-americans voted for Obama, but they aren't accused of being racists).
Why do people acknowledge this for what it is when Blagojevich does it, but not when the rest of the democrats do it?

Can you imagine someone saying, "I don't see enough white males in office, I am going to appoint this (insert name of white man) to the seat."
There would be a huge uproar; just as there should be now. It's all about being treated equally...but only if you are white.

Bill Ayers is touted as being expert at playing the race card and it seems that his influence is great in Chicago politics. The card that Blagoavich played is an obvious one then one played during the election is less obvious. Obama's card is that of reverse racism in that people of color are given special treatment by the media simply because the media doesn't want to appear racist. It is still racial predjudice but it is wearing a new face.
